What to bring for a weekend

The Care Community Camp is a fully hosted weekend with all food provided and two or three Care volunteers there to cook and generally be useful so that you and your support partner can enjoy a time of restoration.

Your camp stay is free - there are no charges.

Children are welcome at a Care Community Camp weekend but please be aware that:

  • space is usually limited to one room per guest and partner booking,

  • most rooms have only two single beds,

  • one room has one double bed,

  • there's enough space for your cot or camp stretcher if needed as an extra bed.

Essentials to bring:

  • bed linen, pillows, blankets

  • the camp stretcher, if needed,

  • your own special dietary requirements and medical needs,

  • a torch,

  • bathroom and beach towels,

  • tooth brushes, paste etc - we provide fragrant soaps and gels,

  • togs for a mad dash into the surf or pool,

  • a change of clothing, jacket and footwear for outdoor action,

  • a sunhat.

Optional bring-a-longs:

  • a contribution of food towards a main meal,

  • maybe a hot water bottle (but not a heater),

  • your surfboard, kayak, golf clubs, fishing line ...

  • ... and sunshine.
